Have you ever gotten tired of finding a pattern, thinking that it would be perfect for that new dress for your granddaughter, or for a cute bib for that baby shower,, only to discover that the work you're producing looks nothing at all like the picture. Or the pattern seems to be written in gibberish, and you can't begin to figure out how to work it. Well, I did too.
So what WILL you find here?
1.Pretty patterns, lots of them!
Most of the items found here will be designed for infants and children, but you will find the occasional pattern for grown-ups.
2. Patterns that are easy to follow.
Explanations of stitches will be provided when necessary, sometimes with videos of stitches or entire projects.
3. Tricks of the trade, and other information of benefit to crocheters.
Many of these will come from you, reader.
4. There may even be a knitting pattern or two.
Heu, you won't hold that against us, will you?
My name is Jami Hede. Welcome to Wee Dezyne, the home for quality designs for handmade crocheted items. As you may have guessed, we specialize in making quality wearables for infants and toddlers. (Although we have been known to make other things as well.)
I could have just sold completed items, that I have hand-crafted from patterns of my own design. But, instead, I wanted to reach out to people -- like yourselves -- who like to make things yourself. Maybe you have grandchildren andyou love to see them in clothing that you have made. Or maybe you just like to crochet, and (like me) you get bored doing huge afghans or adult-sized clothing that takes a long time to finish. I don't know about you, but I find it so much more stimulating to make smaller items, where I don't have to do 40 rows of single-crochet. 100 stitches wide! How unexciting!
Anyway, I digress. One reason that this site is called WEE (We) Dezyne is that I will be looking for your input as well. Do you have a tip that you'd like to share, or have an idea of how to improve one of the patterns you see here? By all means, I want you to share it here. Have you done one of your own designs, but don't consider yourself a full-time designer? I hope to make a place here where you can share that design, either to sell it or just to ask the opinion of other crafters.
This site is still very much in progress. I hope that you will check back from time to time, and watch it grow. I will appreciate your comments, and your constructive criticism, about how I can make it a more enjoyable place for you to visit. Please fill out the simple form below, to provide me with your email address, so that I can send you regular updates on how things are coming. And I hope to have a special gift for the first 100 people to sign up!
Somewhere along the way, I hope we can become friends. I hope you will follow me on the social media outlets I have listed here, and also make this site one of your favorite places to spend a little time.
